Thanks Giving

I will not be in the US this year for Thanks Giving because my Mum is here with me. I will miss the cold walks around Washington DC. I use to walk a lot much to Mum worrying about my safety. I especially loved the smell of hot coffee and food in the quiet afternoons when I walked around the little alphabetically named streets near DuPont Circle.

Maybe this year, just to be a little different, since we are having turkey for Christmas, I might do this stuffed loin dish........ Hmmmmm.......

Ages and Ages

Seems like it has been ages and ages since we have been here to update.

Too busy cooking, baking, trying out new recipes, updating our travel blog. But those are just excuses and we should be more disciplined.

More people are interested in our little catering forage so........ here is to new times, new photos, new offerings, much better updating.

However, with the way food prices are escalating, we may not be able to do much catering on the bigger scale because of cost, but feel free to ask for any help if you are "stuck" with some recipe or other.

We are here more than anything to make friends and just share interests with people who just like to cook.

You do not have to be a Chef to produce good food. My grandmother (who was a well-known cook) always told me that a good cook is someone who can bring out the oohs and aahs with the simplest of cooking. All it takes is fresh ingredients and love for the people you are cooking for. Nothing at all to do with showing off your prowess in the kitchen. That would be pride and not passion, and that makes a world of difference.
