Simple Roasted Pork with Rosemary and Garlic
A simple SIMPLE dish. But oh so out of this world flavours. Good for an easy, relaxed prep.
Braised Mutton
People tend to avoid mutton because they say the smell is too strong.
But the way I prepare my mutton, with the melt in the mouth texture, will only leave you craving for more.
Cholesterol or not, anyone will not be able to stop themselves from eating and wanting more.

Chinese Jicama
A traditional dish of Jicama (Bangkuang/Water Turnip) friend with either shredded chicken or pork (or can be vegetarian), and loads shredded shitake mushrooms. Oh, and added shredded dried squid that has been re-hydrated.
Usually eaten with sliced onions marinated in a yellow bean sauce.
Busily Lazy
I am too busy, and then when I am free, too lazy to keep up with this blog. But people keep asking me to post and so I will have to buckle down and post......
Maybe I should just cut down on my other commitments as cooking relaxes me. And then posting the photographs makes me feel some form of accomplishment.

Onion Relish
Easy-beasy 2 onion relish.
Really easy. Two types of onions, I used the strong Bombay onions, and the sweet white onions.
Slice, (not too finely, not too chunky), julienne some red chillies, and if liking it spicier, slice some small red bird chillies as well.
Add Calamansi lime juice, some palm sugar, and some rock salt (to mellow the sharpness).
Leave for about an hour in the fridge to let all the flavours come together.

"Desperate Dan Pie"
There is a huge pie that I make - 12" in diameter, and I bake it in a heavy duty baking tray.
When I was younger, I use to love the Beano Comics, and Desperate Dan had an aunt who would bake his pie in a bathtub. Hence, my Desperate Dan Pie baked in a huge pan.

Sour Vegetable Curry
Thought of cooking one of my grandmother's old recipes that would always make the most fussy of eaters want to give it a try.
Curry Assam Pedas (Hot and Sour Curry)
It is made with no milk of any kind. Lots of chillies, onions (the small shallots) and tamarind juice.
Vegetables used are brinjals (small rounded eggplants), snake beans, pineapples, ginger flowers, lemongrass, daun kadok (wild pepper leaves), tumeric leaves, Vietnam mint (daun kesom). Apart from the brinjals and snake beans and pineapples, all the leaves must be sliced finely.
In the non-vegetarian version, fermented prawn paste, prawns, and fermented fish stomachs, can be used.

Back Again
I have been either too lazy or too busy to keep up with this blog. As I am not a lazy person, I have just been too caught up in experimenting with new recipes, and being real busy with my other passion ....photography.
Decided to just buckle down and put up more photos of the various dishes that I have been doing.
As I get older, it is more of the perfecting recipes to actually being interested in catering.
To whet the appetite.......
